Nielsen SoundScan who pushin what! Taylor Swift Dominated the charts this week with her second album, Fearless. Not only did Swift debut at #1, but she also managed to go Gold in one week by selling over 592,000 units. It was the largest opening in 2008 by a female artist and the fourth biggest overall, behind Lil Wayne, AC/DC and Coldplay. Fearless also sold 129,000 copies digitally, which marks the fourth biggest week for a digital album since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking them in 2004. T-Pain's new album Thr33 Ringz landed at No. 4 on the Billboard Top 200, with over 167,700 units sold in its first week. With many collaborations including "Can't Believe It" with Lil' Wayne plus "Chopped & Skrewed" featuring Ludacris, Chris Brown, Kanye West, Mary J Blige, Diddy, DJ Khaled, T.I. and more. T-Pain had this to say to SOHH "I got the most number 1's," Pain told SOHH. "I'm not just saying that. It's really on the charts. I got 11 numbers [in one year.] In the history of time, The Beatles got 13. So if I woulda got two more in that year I would beat The Beatles. That's why I'm the ringleader." Rounding out the top tier is T.I.'s "Paper Trail", which fell to # 10 pushin' 62,000 units after 7 weeks bringin his grand hustle total to 1,178,500 units. Rihanna also moved down this week falling ten spots to No. 31 Good Girl Gone Bad sold 21,700 copies. After nearly a year and a half on the charts, she should easily go double platinum by next week with 1,997,800 copies sold. Q-Tip’s Renaissance fell a deep 39 spots to No. 50 this week with 14,900 copies sold. Serving as his follow-up album to 1999’s Amplified, the former A Tribe Called Quest front man’s new disc rests at 49,100 units sold after two weeks on the charts. Big Up to Jedi Mind Tricks with History of Violence, which opened up at No. 169. pushin' 4,500 units after seven days in stores. I was happy to see dope underground Hip Hop on the Billboard Top 200.
